Segmented Diamond Squaring Wheel for Ceramic Tile
Industrial-grade segmented diamond squaring wheel with segment blocks for precision edge squaring on ceramic tile machines. 250 mm outer diameter, 140 mm inner diameter, 10 mm segment height, 14 mm segment width. Wet cut only.
Product Overview
The segmented diamond squaring wheel is a discrete-segment (分段式) version of the standard ring squaring wheel. Instead of one continuous diamond ring around the steel body, this wheel uses individual diamond segment blocks mounted on the steel core — the original, heavy-duty form factor for ceramic tile squaring machines. The segmented design gives faster cutting and better chip clearance than a continuous ring, especially on hard porcelain tile. Each segment is a self-contained diamond block that can be individually replaced if damaged, which makes the wheel easier to maintain and more economical over time.Like the ring version, this is a wet-cut only wheel — water cools the diamond segments, washes slurry out of the cut, and produces a clean, square edge with minimal chipping.

What Does “Segmented (分段式)” Mean?
There are two common designs for diamond squaring wheels:- Ring (整环) type: one continuous diamond ring around the steel body. Smoother finish, longer wheel life.
- Segmented (分段式) type: 6 individual diamond blocks mounted on the steel body, with steel gaps between them. Faster cutting, better chip clearance, and individual segment replacement.

Segmented vs. Ring Type: Which Should You Use?
Featured
Segmented (分段式) — this product
Best for hard porcelain and high production speed. 6 individual diamond blocks, easy maintenance, fast cutting.- Fastest cutting on hard porcelain
- Each segment can be replaced individually
- Better chip clearance for abrasive materials
- The original heavy-duty form factor
Alternative
Ring (整环) Type
Best for smooth, premium finishes. Continuous diamond ring, no segment gaps, very long wheel life.- Smoother edge finish
- Longer overall wheel life
- Better for soft and glazed tile
- See our 250mm Ring Type Squaring Wheel
Choosing the Right Bond & Grit
The standard segmented wheel can be made in a range of bonds and grits. Tell us your tile type and we’ll match the bond.- Hard porcelain tile — soft bond (so the diamond exposes quickly), coarse grit (45–60#).
- Standard ceramic tile — medium bond, medium grit (60–80#).
- Soft glazed tile — hard bond (so the diamond lasts), fine grit (80–120#).
Not sure which bond fits your tile? Send us a sample tile (10×10 cm is enough) and your current wheel spec — we’ll match the right bond and ship a free trial.

Recommended Applications
- Porcelain tile edge squaring (the most common application)
- Ceramic tile edge squaring (wall and floor)
- Glazed tile edge cleanup before chamfering
- Unfired (green) tile rough squaring on the production line
- Automatic tile squaring machines (single-station and multi-station)
- High-volume tile factories producing 10,000+ m² / day
- Repair / replacement for existing 6-segment wheel holders

How to Get the Best Edge Quality
- Match bond to tile hardness. Hard porcelain → soft bond. Soft ceramic → hard bond.
- Keep water flow steady. Insufficient water = glazing and edge chipping. Aim for a continuous sheet of water across the cutting zone.
- Check segment tightness at install. Loose segments vibrate and produce wavy edges. Re-tension mounting bolts if needed.
- Replace individual segments as they wear. One of the main advantages of a segmented wheel: no need to replace the whole wheel when one segment wears out.
- Dress new segments before first use. A short 30-second pass on an abrasive stick exposes the diamond and stabilizes the cut.
Maintenance: How to Replace a Worn Segment
- Remove the wheel from the machine.
- Loosen the segment mounting bolts (typically 1–2 per segment).
- Slip out the worn segment block.
- Clean the seat — remove all swarf and old adhesive.
- Insert the new segment, re-tighten bolts to the spec’d torque.
- Reinstall the wheel, check concentricity, dress the new segment.

What is a segmented (分段式) diamond squaring wheel?
A segmented (分段式) diamond squaring wheel uses 6 individual diamond segment blocks mounted on a steel body, with steel gaps between them. It is the original heavy-duty form factor for ceramic tile squaring machines, designed for fast cutting on hard porcelain tile and individual segment replacement. How is a segmented wheel different from a ring (整环) wheel?
A segmented wheel has 6 separate diamond blocks with steel gaps between them — faster cutting, better chip clearance, easier maintenance. A ring (整环) wheel has one continuous diamond ring — smoother edge finish, longer overall life. See our 250mm Ring Type Squaring Wheel for the alternative. Is the segmented wheel wet or dry?
Wet only. Water cools the diamond segments and washes slurry out of the cut. Dry-cutting this wheel will destroy the bond in minutes. The machine must have a working water feed system. What machines does the 250 mm segmented wheel fit?
It fits the most common ceramic tile squaring machines with a 140 mm bore and 6-bolt mounting pattern. If your machine has different specs, we can customize the bolt circle and bolt size. Send us your machine model and we’ll confirm. Can I replace just one worn segment?
Yes. This is one of the main advantages of a segmented wheel over a ring wheel. Each of the 6 segments can be removed and replaced individually when worn, without scrapping the whole wheel. Replacement segments are available from Western Land — contact us with your serial number.Which bond and grit should I use?
For hard porcelain: soft bond + coarse grit (45–60#). For standard ceramic: medium bond + medium grit (60–80#). For soft glazed tile: hard bond + fine grit (80–120#). Send us a tile sample and we’ll match the right spec. Can I get custom sizes or segment counts?
Yes. We can manufacture in 200 / 230 / 250 / 300 / 350 mm outer diameters with custom bore, bolt pattern, segment count (4 / 6 / 8 / 10), and segment dimensions. MOQ for custom orders is typically 20 pieces. How long does a segmented wheel last?
Service life depends on tile hardness, water flow, bond choice, and feed speed. As a rough guide, a 60# segmented wheel on standard porcelain produces 20,000–50,000 linear meters of edge before segment replacement.Do you offer OEM / private-label manufacturing?
Yes. Western Land offers full OEM / ODM service: custom specs, private-label packaging, and bonded warehouse programs for high-volume buyers.Need a quote, custom size, or full-line spec?
